The Zehdenick brickyard was once the largest in Europe. And today? If you are looking for a special excursion destination for the whole family, you have found the ideal place here. The industrial museum in nature.
Educational offer or leisure time fun? Why not both?
The Ziegeleipark Mildenberg is an industrial and technology museum located in the heart of the Zehdenicker Tonstichlandschaft directly on the Havel, one hour north of Berlin: An adventure park for the whole family. The history of the brick industry is presented in guided tours and through multimedia attractions on an area of 40 hectares. The exhibitions make it possible to experience brick production interactively: young and old can move through the old, authentic ring kilns and machine halls, build them themselves, crank, stack, press, look and, above all, hear and feel how the machines roared through the halls back then.
At old painting tables under the drying sheds, young and old visitors can shape (“paint”) bricks themselves and take them with them as souvenirs or dry them in the brickworks park and have them burned at the field fire kiln festival in autumn. The rides on the light railways are also eventful: that's industrial culture live. The brickworks railway leads past ring kilns, former brickworks barracks, a hall with a field railway collection and even right through the old brickworks in Stackebrandt with an operational steam engine. Families can enjoy the idyll of the Uckermark Lakes Nature Park on a trip on the Tonlorenbahn. On select weekends during the season, the train is even pulled by a steam engine. Children can discover the Brickyard Park on their own in a very special way. On a treasure hunt, children will find secret signs throughout the park, decipher a code and be able to open Eugenius Zacharias' treasure chest. There is a brickyard park rally for the grown-ups and a GPS rally for the parents, which whets the appetite for the large industrial area in the middle of the clay stitch landscape.
During the holidays, children can take the controls of a real narrow-gauge locomotive and earn their brickworks railway driver's license. How about a spin on a go-kart, a track-mounted bicycle, or a balance bike? The large adventure playground with its twelve-meter-high slide, giant swings, and a labyrinth invites them to romp around. The small animal area also provides animal entertainment. A fantastic water playground with a swimming area also promises a welcome cooling-off point. Cozy and relaxing hours in the open air can be spent at the swimming area or on the picnic lawn with barbecue area. Fancy some events? There's a lot going on at the Brickworks Park all year round. The perfect conditions for a varied day.
The adventure land on the Havel: multimedia exhibitions on the history of brickworks and technology, exciting tours, train rides, large playground with small animal zoo and events. Young and old can experience, experience and explore a lot in the brick factory park. Promised!
