Successful review, strong impulses and
diverse experiences for the new season
Mildenberg, March 31, 2026 – The Mildenberg Brickworks Park is launching its 2026 season, building on a successful year. Located about an hour north of Berlin and nestled in the impressive clay pit landscape along the Havel River, this sprawling industrial and technology museum impressively combines industrial heritage, nature experiences, and leisure activities across approximately 40 hectares.
Visitors can mold their own bricks, explore the park through interactive exhibits, or enjoy the diverse play and recreation areas. Dining options, accommodations, events, and other leisure activities complete the offerings.
This year, visitors can once again look forward to a diverse program, new educational opportunities, and top-class events.
Successful 2025 season despite challenging conditions
The past season was extremely successful for the Brickworks Park. Despite a slight decline in tourism in Brandenburg and the Oberhavel district, the park was able to increase its visitor numbers. In total, over 52.000 guests were welcomed in 2025, including approximately 13.000 participants in about 320 groups. This development underscores the growing importance of the Brickworks Park as an attractive destination for families, school classes, and tour groups.
The Ziegeleipark also further established itself as an event venue: with 28 civil ceremonies and four free weddings, it solidified its reputation as an exceptional wedding location and branch of the Zehdenick registry office.
A particular highlight was the inaugural ANNOTOPIA Fantasy Festival, which attracted around 4.500 visitors over four days. This nationally renowned event brought an extraordinary, creative, and family-friendly experience to the Ziegeleipark and is expected to become a regular fixture in the future.
The long-standing vintage car and tractor rally was also a great success, attracting numerous visitors in summery temperatures. Over 950 exhibitors with historic vehicles presented a hands-on experience of automotive history. Hosted by Ulf Schulz, the event offered a diverse entertainment program, including a "living jukebox."
Kick-off with a sporting highlight: 26th Sparkassen Cup
The 2026 event season kicks off with the 26th Sparkassen Cup, a major cross-country running competition in the Oberhavel district. For 24 years, this competition has been held against the impressive backdrop of the Ziegeleipark (Brickyard Park). Students from across the district compete against each other in races of various age groups.
The event is organized in close cooperation between the district of Oberhavel, the association for the promotion of school sports, the State School Office Neuruppin, the central contact persons Uwe Peter and Maximilian Pade, and the Ziegeleipark Mildenberg.
Three major events will shape the 2026 season.
A key component of the event year will once again be three major public events:
The Märkische Dampfspektakel (Brandenburg Steam Spectacular) kicks off the season on May 2nd and 3rd, 2026. Visitors can expect an impressive experience centered around historical and modern steam engines. Highlights include the ceremonial "steam-up," parades of operational steam vehicles from across Europe, and threshing demonstrations by the Dutch group "Dorstvlegels." The program is complemented by steampunk performances by the "Steamroadsters," a vibrant regional market in cooperation with pro agro e. V., a flea market, and a comprehensive family and children's program. Exhibitions, train rides, and other attractions at the brickworks park are also included in the admission price.
From July 3rd to 5th, 2026, the ANNOTOPIA Fantasy Festival returns, once again transforming the grounds into an extraordinary world of adventure. As Germany's largest fantasy festival, ANNOTOPIA captivates with a unique blend of fantasy, art, and entertainment. Visitors will encounter characters from different eras and worlds – from dinosaurs to futuristic heroes. Planned events include costume contests, walk-around acts, concerts, vendor stalls, and a diverse range of food and drink options. Guests in costume/cosplay are especially welcome and will actively contribute to the special atmosphere.
The traditional vintage car and tractor rally will take place on August 8, 2026. The event offers technology enthusiasts and families a diverse day full of nostalgia and community spirit. Hosted by Ulf Schulz, guests can expect a varied program, details of which will be published shortly.
In addition, further events take place throughout the season, which are regularly announced on the website and social media of the brickworks park.
New impetus: renovation, exhibition and educational programs
A key project for 2026 is the restoration of Ring Kiln IV, which has been underway since 2024. The aim is to make the kiln accessible again and present it in as close to its original condition as possible. This will create an authentic addition to the existing exhibitions. The construction work, the progress of which is already visible, is made possible primarily through the financial commitment of the Oberhavel district. The reopening is planned for later in the season.
Alongside this, the new special exhibition "GOLD VALUE" will be presented, exploring the material and intangible value of industrial building culture. The exhibition focuses on the question of what significance preserving historical structures has for the present and future. It can be seen in the Kugelmühle (ball mill) and will run beyond the 2026 season.
Another focus is on expanding the educational offerings. The brickworks park is increasingly positioning itself as an extracurricular learning center and offers new, curriculum-aligned workshops for school classes in grades 3 to 8. The programs combine topics from natural sciences, social sciences, art, and sustainable development with hands-on work and inquiry-based learning in a historical setting. Modern workshop spaces, original industrial facilities, and the natural surroundings create optimal conditions for a lasting learning experience. Other attractions and offers
Tried-and-tested attractions will once again be a regular part of the program. These include the popular steam locomotive days, during which the historic locomotive "LOWA No. 127114" pulls visitors through the clay pit landscape. After the locomotive was out of service for two years for repairs, the popular steam train rides can finally resume.
In addition, the leisure area was expanded to include a large new sandbox, which offers extra play and adventure space, especially for families with children.

The 2026 season runs until November 1st. The brickworks park is open daily from 10:00 AM, with last entry at 17:00 PM.
